Poison Ivy, Toxicodendron radicans L.

FUN FACT ABOUT POISON IVY~ poison ivy does not show up right away after contact, and it can actually show up anywhere from 24-72 hours after contact. This scared me because this was the last plant I looked for and I had in fact touched many plants that looked similar to poison ivy before hand, so i was very quick to take a shower when I got home and wash clothes.
ANOTHER FUN FACT~ The rash developed from poison ivy is not contagious, however anyone or anything that has come into recent contact with it can be. This is a fact that actually scared me because I took my dog to the park with me to roam around while I looked for plants. While I did shower and change when I got home, he did not, and I had come into contact with him may times between my shower and learning this little fact. So any showers were taken that day.
